Children's Activities, Workshops, & Entertainment
Throughout the day as you explore the festival you'll find a wealth of entertaining and educational options, including many ongoing children's and family activities and several engaging, informative workshops and exhibits.
New England Raptors, Ed the Wizard, Higgins Armory, and Prospect Hill Forge will be doing demonstrations throughout the day, just as in years past.
Celtic Kids Pavilion
What a day is in store for Celtic kids! Bring them to the festival and while the music is playing they can be enjoying a variety of terrific, fun and safe activities including bowling, crafts, face painting, mini-golf and sand art on the beach, tattoos and more! Glass blower Donna Eicholz will mesmerize the young ones with her artistic talents and so won't our balloon artist. Remember the day with a picture of your child by our portrait artist or bring your camera for fun photos with our wooden Celtic cut outs. There will be prizes for games and lots of fun! Minimal charges for some activities.

Higgins Armory Museum
The ever popular interpreters from Worcester's world famous museum return to the Celtic Festival to the delight of young and old. Period appropriate armor and weaponry will be on display to demonstrate how a Celtic knight would have dressed and prepared for battle. On site demonstrations on the hour from 11 a.m. through 5:45 p.m.
Prospect Hill Forge, Blacksmithing
Prospect Hill Forge is dedicated to teaching, learning, and practicing the Craft and the Art of Blacksmithing. Their goal is to demonstrate the joy of working hot iron and to help friends develop an appreciation of the beauty of both the result and the process. The Forge is located in Waltham, MA and offers a variety of classes.
New England Reptile and Raptor Exhibits
Marla Isaacs brings numerous reptiles and raptors to the Celtic Festival so you can learn more about these unique animals. Some have very symbolic meaning in Celtic culture. She is a licensed by the Commonwealth to own and rehabilitate the animals and she brings them to schools and businesses to educate people about their characteristics and their habitats. Enjoy her exhibit throughout the day.
Men in Kilts Contest
The now infamous Men in Kilts contest returns! Gentlemen of all ages are encouraged to compete for prizes and most of all, for the notoriety! Wear your finest colors and participate in this fun, family friendly event that shows festival goers the variety of clan colors that can be found in the Blackstone Valley! All contestants should register at the table near the pavilion by 3:00 p.m. and the contest will be held at the Pavilion starting at 3:15 p.m.
